Beyond the best anti-aging moisturizer

Keep Youthful Skin: Go Beyond the Best Anti-Aging Moisturizer

March 24, 2016Jennifer MoshierAnti-AgingNo comments

Every woman longs to have flawless and ageless looking skin, and it goes beyond just using the best anti-aging moisturizer. As time goes on, we all start to notice wrinkles, age spots, fine lines and red elevated bumps that can appear on the face, arms and legs. You may have tried expensive creams and lotions to attempt to remedy these problems, only to find that they do not work as well as you had hoped. Although, there is no way to turn back time, there are ways to alleviate these problems and produce healthy, younger looking skin.

Cleanse, Don’t Scrub

While washing or cleansing, your first impulse may be to intensely scrub on the affected area. While it is a good thing to remove dirt and bacteria too much friction will only aggravate the problem, making it worse. The best way to clean the skin, is to use a mild soap or body wash. It can also help to use a soft wash cloth and lightly cleanse the area in a circular motion. The same rule goes for drying. Instead of harshly wiping it with a towel, pat the water off instead.

Consistent Exfoliation

Another way to produce a younger, healthier glow is to exfoliate. Exfoliation is a good way to remove dead cells, so that the new fresh surface can emerge. If you are experiencing dull, white patches on the epidermis, you may want to buy a body or face scrub soap, formulated to remove dead cells. However, you should only use a chemical exfoliating product 2-3 times a week. Otherwise, you can use a wash cloth, loofah or a deep cleansing brush and gently exfoliate, daily.

The Best Anti-Aging Moisturizer for You

After cleansing or exfoliating, the next step is moisturizing. This helps to hydrate the skin and it also instantly makes it look healthier. Many women believe that they have to purchase expensive crèmes or lotions to achieve this but that isn’t true. You’ll know when you’ve found the best anti-aging moisturizer for you – typically, hypo-allergenic and perfume-free. Unless they are formulated for your particular problem, stay away from greasy or oily lotions because they tend to attract bacteria.

Sunscreen (Minimum SPF 15)

Every woman needs a bit of sunshine to help boost a mood or for a good dose of vitamin D. But there is a time limit on that kind of activity. Too much sunlight is directly responsible for wrinkles, age spots, unsightly bumps and the premature aging of skin. For daily use, it could be a good idea to use a Sunscreen with a SPF of 15 or higher. But if you are planning on going out in the direct sunlight all day, a sunscreen with a SPF of 30 is recommended. If you don’t have any sunscreen, wear protective clothing that covers the arms and legs. It also helps to always wear sunglasses. They not only prevent squinting and wrinkling around the eye but they can also protect the eye itself.

All of these things can work to help the skin look healthier and younger. If you also incorporate a healthy diet and exercise into your daily regimen, you’ll not only look younger but you’ll feel younger too.
